BIOGRAPHY
In the autumn of 2020, I began my photography business in Stockholm, combining my love for capturing beautiful interiors with my passion for interior design. Through my work, I get to explore stunning interiors and hear the unique stories behind each home. Moving from the Netherlands to Stockholm in the spring of that same year was an adventure created by my partner’s job, but at the same time, it fulfilled my own dream of living in this wonderful city.
PHOTOGRAPHY
After studying photography in Rotterdam, I started orienting myself in the most appropriate specialisation. With a number of detours, among others in the field of journalism, I found my passion in interior photography. From that moment on, photography and interior go hand in hand.
When moving to a new country one of my biggest challenges was to get to know the Swedish photo style. For the past years I have been working hard to create a style that I want to be known for, that has the natural look and the warm touch that I found important.
INTERIOR
There has always been this interest in interiors and the stories behind them. My graduation project at the school for photography was a series of photos from the interiors of different stores together with a portrait of the store owner. It was my curiosity that wanted to see if you could guess which interior belonged to which portrait.
With time my interior style has changed after seeing all these different apartments and houses, getting to know different cultures, reading design books and getting inspired by lots of magazines. With the interest I have, I try within each job to help and advise by seeing what works for an interior on photos.
To better support my clients, I knew I had to develop my knowledge of interior styling. I followed a course in home staging to be able to substantiate my ideas and give further advice rather than purely acting in line with my gut feeling. The two professions are becoming more and more intertwined in my work, and I hope that the future brings me many beautiful projects in which photography and interior come together.
RESUMÉ
DAGMAR SIGRID AB
Due to a relocation to Stockholm I started Dagmar Sigrid AB to continue my work as a photographer. My specialization in interior photography comes from several years of experience. In the Netherlands, I worked as a freelance photographer already, but I have deregistered my company from the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.
FLORBRANT SVANBERG
In March 2022 I teamed up with Florbrant/Svanberg, one of the leading agencies in the Stockholm market for high-end interior photography. Delivering photography to some of the biggest and best real estate agents in Sweden. After about 14 months I left Florbrant/Svanberg and continued to pursue my photography under my own name.
HUSFOTO
After my company was officially registered in Sweden, I teamed up with Husfoto in the autumn of 2020. The agency links its network of real estate photographers and brokers together all over Sweden.
ZIEN24
As a real estate photographer for ZIEN24 I was focussed on making visual material for houses that go on sale. This included photography, 360-degree photos and videos. A full-time job in which I photographed an average of four houses a day, five days a week.
TRAINING FOR HOME STAGING
With this course, to become a real estate stylist, I learned how to present a house attractively for sale. During the lessons I learned how to decorate each room, how to influence the experience of each room, how to make a floor plan, how to analyse colours, types of advice and how to start your own business.
TRAINING FOR INTERIOR STYLIST
During this study I learned the basic skills of interior styling in a practical way. This included, for example, dealing with the use of materials and colours, but also using the right style in an interior, giving lighting advice, drawing to scale, responding to trends and choosing the appropriate furniture and accessories. I successfully completed the course with an exam at the EHCB exam agency.
SCHOOL FOR PHOTOGRAPHY
I successfully completed this four-year program with an MBO 4 diploma. The program consisted of lessons on both digital and traditional photography. As a student I was trained to photograph in the studio as well as on location with all the necessary knowledge. This included camera settings, lighting, colour management, the use of Adobe programs and creating my own style.
INTERNSHIP TOTALLY STOCKHOLM
Fulltime internship as an independent photographer, responsible for taking photos for several items in the magazine. I was also responsible for the monthly ‘lisitings’ which included tips about films, theatre, music and museums.
INTERNSHIP RTV RIJNMOND
Fulltime internship as an independent photographer. Daily on the road to take care of the visual material for online news items. Worked closely together with journalists and film crew.
PUBLISHED
Excited to share my work featured in RIJD’s latest lookbook. Seeing my photos in print is truly special, and collaborating with such a passionate team has been incredibly inspiring.
RIJD was founded by Susanne Lundberg and Caroline Ruth, who bring a wealth of design experience. Their style is international and creative, full of prints and inspirations from their travels. Interestingly, they name all their products after men they’ve met, whether in bars, through relationships or someone who inspired them.
