Then & now

This is the second time I’ve photographed this apartment. Same home, but with new owners, a different broker and a few years in between. At first, I wasn’t sure I had been here. But once inside, I recognised it. The new owners had seen the old photos on my website. They were the ones taken when they bought the place.

One of the great things about working in the same city for several years is that I sometimes return to places I’ve photographed before. It’s happening more and more often, and I love it. I get to meet the new residents, see what they’ve changed and hear the stories behind it. In this case, the biggest change is the kitchen. It went from black to beige, which gives the whole space a softer look. The walls were painted in new colours, the dining table moved and of course the interior is different too.

As a photographer, I also ask myself: have I improved? It’s exciting but also a bit scary to shoot the same home again. During this shoot, we even looked back at the first photos and recreated a few of the same angles. I’ve selected those here to make the comparison clear. The first photos, on the left, are from May 2022 when I worked for Florbrant Svanberg, with a broker from Ekenstam (which no longer exists). The newest ones are from June 2025, now working for Fastighetsbyrån as a self-employed photographer.

Looking back now… it’s safe to say: a lot can happen in three years!
