The agency that I'm working with has also a lot of connections with firms that rents out offices. Most of the time people are working behind their desk and you need to find creative angles to not be in the way. Often there is also a lot of stuff that needs to be removed for the photos to show it in a bit of a better way. This time I entered the office and it was absolutely amazing. The location, the view, the interior and the building itself are perfect to me.
Het bureau waar ik mee werk heeft ook veel connecties met bedrijven die kantoren verhuren. Meestal zitten mensen achter hun bureau te werken en moet je creatieve hoeken vinden om niet in de weg te lopen. Vaak moeten er ook een heleboel spullen worden verwijderd om de foto's wat beter tot hun recht te laten komen. Deze keer kwam ik het kantoor binnen en het was absoluut geweldig. De locatie, het uitzicht, het interieur en het gebouw zelf zijn wat mij betreft perfect.
When the company moved in they hired a professional styling firm to create an interior like this. It's really a mix of several points for a different way of working. There are some bigger rooms filled with desks, meeting rooms that has a dining table that could easily be at someones home, there also is a lounge spot with a sofa, a small and cosy room to retreat for a while and a relax room for breaks with a football table.
Toen het bedrijf hier introk hebben ze een professioneel stylingbureau ingehuurd om een interieur als dit te creëren. Het is echt een mix van verschillende plekken voor een andere manier van werken. Er zijn enkele grotere kamers met bureaus, vergaderruimtes met een eettafel die zo bij iemand thuis zou kunnen staan, er is ook een loungeplek met een bank, een kleine en gezellige ruimte om je even terug te trekken en een ontspanningsruimte voor pauzes met een voetbaltafel.
Let's talk about the view, I mean this is only something you can dream of right? I took the photos at an office at Katarinavägen which is on Södermalm and from here you can see a big part of the city. The shoot was in the beginning of October and we were so lucky with the weather. That blue sky made it even more magical.
Laten we het eens hebben over het uitzicht, ik bedoel dit is toch iets waar je alleen maar van kunt dromen? Ik nam de foto's in een kantoor op Katarinavägen in Södermalm en vanaf hier kun je een groot deel van de stad zien. De shoot was begin oktober en we hadden veel geluk met het weer. Die blauwe lucht maakte het nog magischer.
I would definitely say yes to a livingroom like this. Imagine to work here and have this as your office. That was the feeling my client wanted to create. These renters will probably not move out for a very long time and the reason we took photos here was because of the same size office at another floor that we had to promote. I haven't seen the office that will be for rent myself, but they were still doing all renovation work and it was a mess with cables and work tools everywhere. So this shows a much better idea of what it can be.
Ik zou zeker ja zeggen tegen een woonkamer als deze. Stel je voor om hier te werken en dit als je kantoor te hebben. Dat was het gevoel dat mijn klant wilde creëren. Deze huurders zullen waarschijnlijk nog heel lang niet willen verhuizen en de reden dat we hier foto's hebben genomen was omdat er op een andere verdieping een kantoor van dezelfde grootte was dat we moesten promoten. Ik heb het kantoor dat binnenkort te huur komt zelf niet gezien, want ze waren nog bezig met alle renovatiewerkzaamheden en het was een puinhoop met overal kabels en werkgereedschap. Dus dit geeft een veel beter idee van wat het kan worden.
In the background you can see Gröna Lund, the theme park on Djurgården. With this photo we really wanted to create the feeling of working here with this beautiful view. Even at this office people where already working and we had to work a bit around them, but for this photo we asked if someone wanted to leave his seat for a second. Sometimes I have to do these commercial office shoots very early in the morning before the employees come to the office. That already can be around 07:00 when it's still dark outside at some moments of the year. It works much easier since I only have to follow the agent and move some stuff to the side now and then. Of course for these series of photos daylight and a good view was important.
Op de achtergrond zie je Gröna Lund, het themapark op Djurgården. Met deze foto wilden we echt het gevoel creëren dat je hier werkt met dit prachtige uitzicht. Zelfs in dit kantoor waren al mensen aan het werk en moesten we een beetje om hen heen werken, maar voor deze foto vroegen we of iemand even van zijn stoel wilde komen. Soms moet ik deze commerciële kantoor shoots heel vroeg in de ochtend doen, voordat de werknemers naar kantoor komen. Dat kan al rond 07:00 zijn als het op sommige momenten van het jaar nog donker is buiten. Het werkt veel gemakkelijker omdat ik alleen maar de makelaar hoef te volgen en af en toe wat spullen aan de kant moet zetten. Voor deze serie foto's was daglicht en een goed uitzicht natuurlijk belangrijk.
Some days ago I had to photograph another office and I was only doing the first room and already three employees came to me to ask who I was, what I was doing and who allowed me to get in. The leasing agent was only a few steps away and obviously no one knew that we were coming. But also tricky things can be for example writing boards, notes or piles of papers that might include private information. It often happens that I have to remove logos or blur certain things afterwards in the editing.
Enkele dagen geleden moest ik een ander kantoor fotograferen en ik was nog maar met de eerste kamer bezig en er kwamen al drie werknemers naar me toe om te vragen wie ik was, wat ik aan het doen was en wie me binnen had gelaten. De makelaar was maar een paar stappen verder en niemand wist natuurlijk dat we kwamen. Maar ook lastige dingen zijn bijvoorbeeld schrijfborden, notities of stapels papieren die privé-informatie kunnen bevatten. Het gebeurt vaak dat ik achteraf in de editing logo's moet verwijderen of bepaalde dingen onscherp moet maken.
The light comes in on a beautiful way. The windows are already beautiful in themselves and as you can see the room on the right even had colored glass windows. Unfortunately the room was in use so we were not able to take any photos there.
Het licht komt op een mooie manier binnen. De ramen zijn op zich al mooi en zoals je kunt zien had de kamer rechts zelfs ramen met glas in lood. Helaas was de kamer in gebruik dus we hebben er geen foto's kunnen nemen.
It can be that this office is too new for personal items, or they just want to keep it this clean and good looking. Sometimes when I photograph an office you really get an idea of what kind of person is normally behind the desk in each room because of the accessories and personal belongings. Once I was at a law firm and everywhere I saw extra suits and shoes from luxury brands in case they had to change quick. Of course on a lot of desks you find photos of family members and once I even saw a cabinet filled with opened bottles of whiskey.
Het kan zijn dat dit kantoor te nieuw is voor persoonlijke spullen, of dat ze het gewoon zo schoon en mooi willen houden. Soms als ik een kantoor fotografeer krijg je echt een idee van wat voor soort persoon er normaal achter het bureau zit in elke kamer door de accessoires en persoonlijke bezittingen. Ik was eens bij een advocatenkantoor en overal zag ik extra pakken en schoenen van luxe merken voor het geval ze zich snel moesten omkleden. Natuurlijk vind je op veel bureaus foto's van familieleden en één keer zag ik zelfs een kast vol met geopende flessen whisky.
This is the place to eat lunch and have a break while playing table football. With my job I come at a lot of offices, but I never worked at an office with colleagues myself. Walking around here I can imagine it will be really nice, but most of the offices doesn't look really attractive to me. Once I applied on a job where I had to work at their office and had to stop my work as a photographer. I was so afraid of regretting my choice and miss the real creative side that I dropped out of the application process. Good decision in the end, a few months later I moved to Stockholm and started my own photography business.
Dit is de plek om te lunchen en te pauzeren tijdens een potje tafelvoetbal. Met mijn werk kom ik op veel kantoren, maar ik heb zelf nog nooit op een kantoor met collega's gewerkt. Als ik hier rondloop kan ik me voorstellen dat het heel gezellig is, maar de meeste kantoren zien er niet echt aantrekkelijk uit als je het mij vraagt. Ik heb een keer gesolliciteerd op een baan waarbij ik op hun kantoor moest werken en mijn werk als fotograaf moest staken. Ik was zo bang om spijt te krijgen van mijn keuze en de echte creatieve kant te missen dat ik de sollicitatieprocedure heb afgebroken. Uiteindelijk een goede beslissing, een paar maanden later verhuisde ik naar Stockholm en begon ik mijn eigen fotografie bedrijf.
This is one of the meeting rooms they have. The view from both windows is amazing again. The left window shows the city and the right window is in the direction of the water towards Nacka. It's a very light room and I like that the focus is purely on the oval table. Beside some items in the windowsill and the fauteuils in the corner there is nothing else. With the large carpet, they still managed to give it a minimalist warm feeling.
Dit is een van de vergaderzalen die ze hebben. Het uitzicht vanuit beide ramen is weer geweldig. Het linkerraam toont de stad en het rechterraam is in de richting van het water naar Nacka. Het is een zeer lichte kamer en ik vind het mooi dat de focus puur op de ovale tafel ligt. Behalve wat spullen in de vensterbank en de fauteuils in de hoek is er verder niets. Met het grote tapijt zijn ze er toch in geslaagd om het een minimalistisch warm gevoel te geven.
The photo on the left is taken from the hallway with a sneak peek into the big room with the sofa. They were not completely done with the renovation work in the hallway so we had to take a lot of boxes away for the photos. Although you can't see the entire ceiling, you can already see the nice lines. It was a round dome and was enhanced by the paintings. I'm standing with my back to the front door and as well as on the left as on the right there are more entrances to several rooms. You could say that the hallway really is the connecting point to all the rooms. With on the left photo already a bit of a first glimpse of the smaller room on the right.
De foto links is genomen vanuit de gang met een sneak peek in de grote kamer met de bank. Ze waren nog niet helemaal klaar met de verbouwing in de gang, dus we moesten een heleboel dozen weghalen voor de foto's. Hoewel je niet het hele plafond kunt zien, kun je al wel de mooie lijnen zien. Het was een ronde koepel en werd versterkt door de beschilderingen. Ik sta met mijn rug naar de voordeur en zowel links als rechts zijn er meer ingangen naar verschillende kamers. Je zou kunnen zeggen dat de gang echt het verbindingspunt is naar alle kamers. Met op de linker foto al een beetje een eerste indruk van de kleinere kamer rechts.
A cosy place where you can sit to focus for a while. The only point of criticism the leasing agent and I had was here. We tried to connect the black cable to another electricity point, but this was the only solution. Nevertheless an amazing office to see. This kind of hidden gems in a big city can really make my working day.
Een gezellige plek waar je kunt zitten om je even te concentreren. Het enige punt van kritiek dat de makelaar en ik hadden, was hier. We hebben geprobeerd de zwarte kabel aan te sluiten op een ander elektriciteitspunt, maar dit was de enige oplossing. Desondanks een geweldig kantoor om te zien. Dit soort verborgen juweeltjes in een grote stad kunnen mijn werkdag echt maken.
